Saint Martin’s restaurant chefs showcase their work in Paris
The 10th edition of SAGASDOM, the Overseas Territories and World Cuisine Gastronomy Fair, will take place from 2 to 4 October in Paris. This year, Haiti will be the guest of honour… and the territory will be represented by the Association of Restaurant Chefs of Saint Martin.
Around 100 exhibitors, some 50 chefs and leading figures from the world of gastronomy, and more than 40,000 visitors are expected at the Pavillon Gravelle over three days in Paris’s 12th arrondissement. The programme for this exhibition, dedicated to overseas flavours and specialities, includes demonstrations, tastings and competitions such as those for the best bokit, the most fabulous accras and the most delicious coconut sorbet.

At the Association of Restaurant Chefs of Saint-Martin’s stand, Julien Chauvenet will be showcasing an exclusive creation: the ‘SXM Burger’, with Caribbean flavours flambéed with aged Damoiseau rum. The chef, who lived in Saint-Martin for nearly ten years, is a co-founder of Foodies and winner of the 2023 World Burger Contest; he will be giving several demonstrations every lunchtime and evening.
This event provides an excellent showcase for the destination – undoubtedly the most gastronomic in the Caribbean – and the talent of local chefs. More than 35 chefs have now joined the association, working in gourmet or ‘bistronomic’ establishments serving French, Creole, Caribbean and international cuisine.
