La Vitrine: opening scheduled for 13 June
The shared boutique, set up by the Saint Martin Inter-Professional Consular Chamber (CCISM) in partnership with the Collectivité, is about to open its doors. Now is the time to visit, ahead of the arrival of the first designers and the official opening.
Located on the corner of Victor Maurasse and Félix Éboué streets, this new retail space has been designed as a genuine business incubator. The concept is based on a shared space that allows exhibitors to test their business in real-world conditions, launch new products, build their customer base and gain visibility. Spaces are available for periods of three to six months, renewable once, with a maximum occupancy period of 18 months to encourage a regular turnover of exhibitors. For small artisans or young designers, this pop-up store represents a real springboard. With affordable rents — ranging from €300 for a counter to €400 for the largest space, including service charges — exhibitors can benefit from high-street visibility and test the viability of their business before, potentially, considering opening their own shop. The concept is proving popular, as the CCISM has received around thirty applications. In the end, seven designers were selected and will share the shop’s two adjoining spaces for varying durations depending on the exhibitor: Tak Moonik (conch shell jewellery), Mille et une choses (plus-size clothing), So Chic Cherry (bags and accessories), Lovey Candle (candles and fragrances), Kellzmerch (stainless steel jewellery), Sparkles Cosmetics (beauty products and make-up) and Soualiga Slangs (accessories and cultural items). They were given a tour of the premises last Wednesday during a visit organised by the CCISM.
A second visit is scheduled for this Friday, 29 May, from 11am to 1pm for anyone wishing to explore the venue and submit their application for 2027, as the showcase is already fully booked until next January. It will officially open its doors on 12 June, ahead of an inauguration scheduled for 13 June to coincide with the Spot Light event – a fitting tribute, as the idea for this concept emerged at the same time.
It has taken a little longer than expected to bring the project to fruition, but “La Vitrine” is now a reality. The venue will be brought to life daily by the island’s artisans and designers, Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 6pm, just like all the shops in the town centre. Designers wishing to take advantage of this opportunity can find all the information on the dedicated page of the CCISM website: www.ccism.com/la-vitrine.
