Although the airline’s planes do not land at the airport on the French side, Saint Martin has been honoured in a symbolic gesture. An Air France Airbus A320 has now been named ‘Grand Case’.

The Collectivity’s First Vice-President, Alain Richardson, welcomed Air France-KLM’s Regional Director, Lionel Rault, last Wednesday, accompanied by the Station Manager at Princess Juliana Airport, Alcide Richardson. The airline representatives came to make this announcement official to the local authorities. The Airbus A320, registered as F-GKXQ, which has recently come out of the paint shop, now bears the name ‘Grand Case’ on its fuselage, in tribute to the territory of Saint Martin. This initiative is part of a tradition revived by Air France in 2019, whereby each of its aircraft is named after a city or place.
With a capacity of 174 passengers, the “Grand Case” A320 is mainly assigned to regional routes from Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle to major French and European cities.
First Vice-President Alain Richardson welcomed this initiative, thanking Air France for this gesture of appreciation towards the territory and the Grand Case neighbourhood.
