In Philipsburg, a road accident that occurred on the night of Monday, 2 March is now the subject of a criminal investigation. The Sint Maarten Police Service (KPSM) announced that the incident, initially reported as an accident, is now being treated as a double homicide.
Shortly after 3:30 a.m., law enforcement officers found an overturned SUV near the entrance to Arlet Peters Road, also known as Old Cake House Road. Inside the vehicle, the driver and a female passenger were unconscious. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.
