A bank robbery that ends in a dead end

A vehicle crashed into the stone wall at the entrance to the Orient Bay Gardens after skidding for some distance along the road.  No sooner had the car come to a halt than a man got out and ran into Orient Bay Park, closely followed by another man wearing a balaclava and gloves. Security guards stationed at the entrance to the site attempted to stop them, but the two men evaded them. Feeling cornered, they turned back and, whilst one of them fled towards Quartier d’Orléans, the other man was eventually apprehended by the site’s security guards.

The leap of death

Back at the station, the officers learnt that the two men had apparently stolen the car to carry out an armed robbery shortly before losing control of the vehicle. Initial findings suggest that a third man was also in the car and that he had thrown himself out of it before the final impact. He was found dead a few metres further on, having clearly not survived his fall onto the road.
With the fire brigade having joined the emergency medical team at the scene, the police are now attempting to gather evidence and clues required for the standard investigation. An inquiry will be conducted to determine the exact circumstances of the robbery, the accident and the role played by each of the individuals involved.
