Verde-SXM has just signed a partnership agreement with Valor Auto to strengthen the local end-of-life vehicle (ELV) processing sector. This represents a tangible step forward for the environment, and a completely free solution for all private individuals who are unsure what to do with their old vehicle.

Announced on 27 May, this new partnership builds on existing collaborations with the eco-organisation Recycler Mon Véhicule, thereby strengthening Verde-SXM’s ability to offer local and responsible solutions for the management of end-of-life vehicles. As an approved centre, the company ensures that the process complies with environmental and regulatory requirements, from the collection of the vehicle through to its destruction and recycling. A comprehensive, supervised and environmentally friendly process. For the island’s residents, it also provides the assurance that their actions directly contribute to reducing the impact of automotive waste on the local area.

In practical terms, the process is simple, quick and 100% free. The individual submits their request via the recyclermonvehicule.fr platform. Verde-SXM then gets in touch, organises the vehicle’s collection and handles all the administrative formalities and legal documents, including the Cerfa certificate. No fees, no administrative hassle. The vehicle simply needs to be clean, accessible and cleared of personal belongings. Once collected, up to 98% of the materials are recycled or recovered: metals, plastics, batteries, tyres and other components are sent to specialist facilities to minimise landfill and promote the circular economy. The remainder is used for energy recovery. A rigorous process, designed to ensure that no end-of-life vehicle becomes yet another piece of waste in the region.
