As part of the partial review of the Land Use Plan (POS), the Local Authority has scheduled environmental surveys to take place from 15 to 21 October. Carried out by the consultancy firm Antilles-Guyane Environnement, these surveys will identify the fauna, flora, natural habitats and wetlands in various areas of the island.
The work will take place between 9.00 pm and 6.00 am, involving the temporary installation of acoustic recording equipment. The surveyors will be carrying an official letter of authorisation and must obtain prior consent from landowners to access private land.
The schedule of fieldwork, which is subject to change depending on the weather, includes the following locations: Anse Marcel ZAC du Grand Pavois (15 October), Anse Marcel, Cul-de-Sac and Grandes Cayes (16 October), Grand-Case, Espérance, La Savane and Pigeon Pea Hill (17 October), Bellevue, Pierre-à-Chaux, Red Rock, Terres Basses and La Batterie (19 October), Oyster Pond, Quartier d’Orléans, Morne Valois and Grand-Font (20 October), Saint-Louis, Rambaud, Colombier, Mont de Marigot and Pic Paradis (21 October).
