Moringa is a tree found in Saint Martin and renowned worldwide for its many health benefits. It can be used in various forms in food, but also in cosmetics.

Its composition

Moringa is particularly rich in nutrients. It contains more than 90 nutrients that are beneficial to our body, including several types of vitamins, minerals, potassium, calcium, magnesium, selenium, iron, fluoride, copper and zinc. The leaves and fruits of the tree also contain essential amino acids, flavonoids, chlorophyll and polyphenols (antioxidant compounds). Some consider this plant to be the most nutritious and complete plant in existence!

Its virtues

There are so many that it is difficult to list them all. The components of moringa are a great support for our immune system. In addition to being antioxidants, its vitamins help to strengthen the body's natural defences. In general, this plant helps to combat fatigue and prevent infectious diseases, anaemia and mineral and vitamin deficiencies. Moringa is also believed to have beneficial properties for the cardiovascular system and helps regulate blood lipid and sugar levels, which is beneficial for people with diabetes. In addition, it is said to promote weight loss and regulate blood pressure. Finally, moringa is an excellent ally for skin and hair care and can therefore be used in cosmetics.

Consumption and use

The most common form is dried leaf powder, which is sometimes found in capsule form or in sachets for preparation. Moringa powder can be added to soups, purées, smoothies, sauces and salads. Moringa leaves have a mild taste, similar to spinach. Moringa can also be consumed in the form of oil, made from the seeds. It is used in a similar way to olive oil, in cooking or as a seasoning. However, it is mainly used in cosmetics: it is non-comedogenic and good for all skin types. It is also ideal for nourishing dry and frizzy hair.
