Fun that’s useful!

Active all year round in the service of the community, service clubs carry out numerous social, humanitarian and civic initiatives thanks to the dedication of their volunteers. To fund their initiatives, the Oualichi Lions Club and the Safari Leo Club regularly organise events open to the public. Taking part in these events allows you to combine a good cause with a pleasant experience, whilst supporting projects that benefit the whole community.

Oualichi Lions Club Belote Tournament

The Oualichi Lions Club on the Île de Saint-Martin promotes the values of friendship, solidarity and commitment. Every year for the past three years, it has organised a belote tournament to raise funds for its social and humanitarian initiatives, which benefit the local community throughout the year. The third edition of this tournament, which is always a very friendly affair, will take place on Saturday 27 June at 7.00 pm in the multi-purpose hall at the Daniella Jeffry vocational college in Concordia. Participants will have the chance to win a range of prizes, and light refreshments and drinks will be available on site. Enquiries: 06 90 73 89 59. Registration (€20 per person) via HelloAsso (link via the QR code on the poster).

‘Youth Bingo’ organised by the Safari Leo Club

The Leo Club Safari is run by local young people who are committed to working for the benefit of their community. Their “Youth Bingo”, taking place on Saturday 27 June at the Fantastic Hotel in Concordia, aims to raise funds to support the various social and community initiatives they run for the local population, and particularly for young people. All young people on the island, aged 13 to 17, are invited to take part in this event, which is all about sharing, fun and solidarity. They’ll have the chance to win one of the many prizes on offer, whilst also helping to support the club’s initiatives. Drinks and snacks will be on sale at the venue. Registration (€5 per person) via HelloAsso; scan the QR code on the poster shared on the ‘Leo Club Safari’ Facebook page and the ‘@leoclubsafari’ Instagram
account.
