Tennis: TCISM heads for the final!

A close-knit team, mental strength and talent are also what make the difference in competitions. The Tennis Club of Saint Martin Island (TCISM) demonstrated this in the fratricidal semi-final of the Guadeloupe 3rd Division Championship against the Saint Barth Tennis Club! Last Saturday, on its home courts and despite the absence of its captain, Benoît Vincenti, the team did not disappoint. Jean-Louis Virolan led the way by winning the first match 6-1, 6-1. Eric Zianni continued the momentum by winning 6-4, 6-4. However, the other two matches were not as successful, with Manuel losing 6-7, 6-1, 7-10 in the super tie-break against his SBTC opponent. Giorgio Costa, the team's No. 1 player, was unable to turn the tide and also lost 6-4, 6-4. With the scores tied, everything came down to the doubles, where the TCISM players gave their opponents no chance, beating them quickly 6-0, 6-2. They will play in the championship final on 14 March in Guadeloupe.
