Spotlight on Dream of Trail
It’s a busy start to the new season for Dream of Trail! On Monday 14 September at 5.15 pm at the Rasta Gardens in Bellevue, the club will be organising an introductory evening to fitness walking for adults (aged 16 and over). Meanwhile, the Family Trail events are back to their usual monthly schedule, with a different theme for each session. But the highlight of this September is undoubtedly the 2026 edition of the ‘24 Hours of Dream of Trail’ on 19 and 20 September.
Anyone can take part in this event: there’s no time to beat, no ranking to defend. Just the desire to share a friendly, free-of-charge experience. The race is divided into 12 2-hour sections, two of which are also open to walkers. You can register for the time slot(s) of your choice: 2 hours, 4 hours or more. For 24 hours, runners take turns on the roads and paths in a friendly and cheerful atmosphere. A timing baton is passed from section to section to record the distance covered and the elevation gain over the 24 hours (it must be set to the correct time at the start and finish of each section). The race will start on Saturday 19 September at 4.00 pm outside the Crédit Mutuel branch in Marigot, and will finish on Sunday 20 September at 4.00 pm on the Mont Choisy road at the home of Esnard, the club president. To take part, you must wear suitable clothing (and a head torch for participants between 6.00 pm and 6.00 am), enough water for 2 hours of running or walking, and register before 16 September at 7.00 pm (link or QR code to access the section table on the ‘Dream of Trail SXM’ Facebook page).
