Longe-Côte: two referees for the region

A training course for Longe-Côte referees was organised on 4 and 5 February in Martinique by the French Hiking Federation, to which the Longe-Côte clubs are affiliated. Fourteen licence holders from clubs in Martinique, Guadeloupe, Marie-Galante and Saint-Martin attended this theoretical and practical training course given by Alain Lévêque, national referee.

Longe-Côte is a young sport, created in 2005 by Thomas Wallyn, whose rules are still evolving. Now, every region and every club must have a referee in its ranks. One referee is required for every ten participants in competitions, whether regional or national. This training course, organised ahead of the Martinique Open, enabled participants to put their knowledge of competition organisation into practice and get into shape after receiving their certification. Saint Martin now has two referees: Cindy Kuhry for the Je Longe la Côte aux Antilles (JLCA) club and Ann Bouard (yes, that's right!) for the Friendly Longe-Côte club.
