From 9 to 11 February, the Centre d'Excellence et d'Éducation par le Sport (CEES) organised a unique programme at Soualiga College, bringing together student athletes from across the territory. This initiative places sport at the heart of a structured educational project, with the exceptional participation of Jacob Brown, a former NFL athlete who is now a coach and speaker.

Jacob Brown's presence made a lasting impression. During his talks, the former professional player addressed key topics such as mental preparation, goal setting and visualisation. "Your sport will shape you, but it is what you become off the field that will define your future," he told the young athletes. This philosophy resonates with the CEES's vision: to use sport as a lever for personal and civic development. On Monday 9 February, a conference at the Grand Case Beach Club brought together athletes, families and institutional representatives. The discussions highlighted the crucial role of parents in supporting young athletes and the need to embed each career path in a sustainable educational vision.

Workshops to prepare

The programme was structured around several complementary workshops. For example, the Carnival-themed escape game, co-hosted with the Soualigan Slangs association, strengthened team cohesion. The student-athletes also benefited from modules on the risks associated with screens, personal development, stress management and media communication, taking turns to play the roles of journalists and sportspeople in role-playing games. Through this initiative, the CEES reaffirms its commitment to the young people of Saint-Martin, transforming education through sport into a genuine regional strategy for the future.
