115 skippers will be on the starting line for the 13th edition of the Route du Rhum, in Saint-Malo Bay, this Sunday 1 November at 1.02 pm, mainland France time. ‬Among them‭, ‬seven sailors will be representing Guadeloupe‭.‬

Founded in 1978 by Michel Etevenon, the solo transatlantic race takes place every four years, linking Saint-Malo in Brittany to Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe, over a course of approximately 3,542 nautical miles, or just over 6,500 km. It brings together professionals and amateurs, men and women, on the same starting line – a rarity in elite sport. The current record is held by Charles Caudrelier, the most recent winner of the 2022 edition, who completed the race in 6 days, 19 hours, 47 minutes and 25 seconds at sea.
It is a record that inspires the seven sailors from Guadeloupe, even though they are competing in different boat categories.
David Ducosson, skipper of Trilogik, and Damien Seguin, skipper of Arkéa Handicap International, will both be competing in the Vintage Multi class, whilst Thibaut Vauchel-Camus, skipper of Solidaires en Peloton by Delanchy, will be the only skipper from Guadeloupe to compete in the Ocean Fifty class.  Rodolphe Sepho on CANBT-OTI – Rêve de Large 5, Kéni Piperol, skipper of Drépavoile, Ulysse Pozzoli, skipper of Renovatec Sailing Team, and Yanick Rebuffat, skipper of Mussulo 40, will all be competing in the Class40 category.
