Naïla Parotte, the beauty queen who is redefining the genre
Beautiful, smiling and positive, this young lady is never short of humour or a quick wit. At 22 years old, standing at one metre eighty-four, she’s living life to the full and embracing the Miss France experience with stars in her eyes and glitter in her hair. We met her during a fitting, one of many that lie ahead.
Under the watchful eye of the Committee’s chairwoman, Catherine Vermot de Boisrolin, who looks after her as closely as water watches over fire, Naïla welcomed the designers behind some of her outfits that evening. She is in her element, the world of elegance and fashion. Creativity is, in fact, one of her guiding principles. But whilst she agreed to reveal a little about herself during our meeting, taking part in a quick Q&A session, she retained a touch of mystery. We’ll have to wait until the pageant on 12 December to discover the cause she intends to champion and a Miss who may well take us by surprise.
With a STMG baccalaureate and a BTS in accounting and management, Naïla works at a car dealership, where she is in charge of quality and warranties. She has put her career on hold to prepare for the competition – part-time for now, but full-time from next month, as the programme is set to intensify. She’ll head back to Paris to take part, alongside the other contestants, in photo shoots, interviews and a live appearance on TF1’s evening news (not to be missed)… before returning to the island, this time accompanied by the 30 other regional contestants.
The adventure began with a little nudge from her mum, but also stemmed from a personal desire – a teenage dream. And this isn’t Naïla’s first foray into the world of beauty: she took her first steps into modelling by entering the Top Model Caraïbe competition, which she won in 2023… so it’s up to us to support her so that her dream can go even further. On 12 December, we’ll leave the beach behind, phone charged and in hand, and tune in to the telly at 2 pm to vote for our Miss.
