Paris Fair: another successful venture

On the initiative of the Collectivité and the CCISM, ten businesses from Saint-Martin showcased their products at the Paris Fair, which took place from 30 April to 11 May. It is now time to take stock, and the results are largely positive.

Ten companies – Armelle B, Kréoli Bijoux, SC Company, Tagloonink, Love, SXM One Island, Soualiga Slangs, Golden Grove Farm, Exodus Juice Bar, Chez Ginette – manned the Saint Martin stand for eleven days in the ‘World in Paris’ area dedicated to overseas territories. By funding their trip to mainland France, they all aimed to boost their visibility and sales, as well as to help promote local expertise.
Although the average spend was significantly lower than last year’s (€58 compared to €67 in 2025), due to the gloomy economic climate, the Saint-Martin exhibitors—particularly those participating for the second time—nevertheless achieved a higher turnover than last year. Alongside direct sales made at the stand, several also managed to secure orders and make initial contacts that could open up new opportunities for them in the future.
In terms of promoting the destination, the traditional dances performed by the Grain d’Or troupe, both at the stand and on the stage of the exhibition pavilion, and the flavours of the generous cuisine from Chez Ginette played a major role in winning over visitors.  The stand was visited by President Mussington, Third Vice-President Dominique Louisy, MP Frantz Gumbs, and the Mayor of Paris. Beyond these formal visits, it was Saint Martin’s appeal and the businesses’ ability to captivate the Parisian public that mattered most.
