19 June 2026

On 21 June, dads will be the centre of attention. As every year, Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in June. ‬In 2026‭, ‬this event will take place on the same day as Fête de la Musique‭. ‬In‭ ‬Saint-Martin‭, ‬a cultural programme centred on music and laughter awaits the island’s dads‭.‬

Music Festival: ‘Mas Vakans’ dance party

On Sunday 21 June, from 6.00 pm, the Swali association will be organising the final ‘déboulé’ of the season. This event forms part of the Fête de la Musique celebrations.  Entitled ‘Mas Vakans’, this event will take place on public roads. Originating in Guadeloupe, the tradition of the street parade consists of a gathering where residents, spectators and participants alike take over public spaces and transform them into an open-air stage. In Marigot, the route will start and finish at the Gaslibay car park. The ‘déboulé’ will pass along Route de Sandy Ground, Rue de Hollande and Rue de la République, amongst others.

Laughs with Jean-Yves Rupert

On Saturday 20 June at 7.00 pm, comedian Jean-Yves Rupert will take to the stage at the Aleeze in Philipsburg. This performance is part of the artist’s final tour. Focused on laughter and sharing, this farewell show takes the form of a retrospective, blending sketches and memories to celebrate the artist’s career. The performance is part of the 18th edition of the ‘Laugh ‘Till Belly Burst’ Comedy Festival. Tickets are available in advance from Levi’s in Marigot, Buzz in Hope Estate and on bizouk.com, priced at €40, or €50 on the door.
