Chess: SXM Chess Club tournament

The SXM Chess Club will be hosting the 3rd Saint-Martin Rapid Chess Tournament on Sunday 24 May at the Aux Mets Tissés restaurant in Hope Estate. Registration is open to all (€10 for club members, €20 for non-members). As this tournament is sanctioned by FIDE (International Chess Federation) and the FFE (French Chess Federation), players must hold a federation licence. However, this can be obtained upon registration for the tournament (annual fee: €10 for adults and €3 for children). The tournament will start at 9.30 am and will consist of seven 10-minute rounds. Players and accompanying adults can enjoy a meal on site, with a choice of adult or children’s menu. Several prizes will be up for grabs.
