Car Show: where vintage and modern meet

Now in its second year, the Car Show organised by Cadisco has grown in scale and, alongside the vintage cars—which looked as gleaming as ever—the latest models put on a fine show in the Galisbay car park last Sunday.

The concept behind this American-style car show appeals to car enthusiasts and families alike… It’s true that the fire engine at the entrance to the show always goes down a treat with the children! Once again this year, the Club des Vieilles Soupapes and several collectors turned out in force, exhibiting around fifty vehicles from a bygone era; a time when aesthetics went hand in hand with engineering. Today, the focus is on comfort and futuristic styling, for what has become an essential part of everyday life. Three dealerships – Sorema-Kia, SGDM and SXM Cars – showcased their very latest models, allowing the public keen to choose a new car to combine pleasure with practicality. The giants of the road were not to be outdone: the lorries made quite an impression on visitors, as did the two-wheelers, with a nod to Harley-Davidson, which arrived in the morning to join the half-dozen vintage motorbikes on display.
The event also involved the Sécurité Routière SXM association, at whose stand children were able to practise, amongst other things, riding a two-wheeler on a simulator, as well as accessory suppliers and the Garage Solidaire, which offers repairs and access to a vehicle at a reduced cost for people in precarious situations.  The aim for Cadisco’s organisers is to repeat the event every year in May – the brand’s anniversary month, as it celebrates its 28th birthday this year – with an even bigger turnout and a few new features. See you next year!
