From 5 to 11 April, the SAFE Saint-Martin association is organising an educational trip focused on citizenship for six teenagers from the territory. A unique immersion in the heart of French and European democratic institutions, designed to inspire, broaden horizons and encourage civic engagement among young people from Saint-Martin.

Invited by MEP Éric Sargiacomo, the young people will have the opportunity to visit the European Parliament, where they will attend a plenary session and speak directly with the MEP about the challenges of European citizenship and democratic participation.
This educational and commemorative trip will also take them to discover several iconic sites of the Republic, such as the Senate and the National Assembly, as well as historical landmarks including the Palace of Versailles, the Louvre Museum and the Shoah Memorial.
Through these visits, the aim is to enable young people to understand the institutions, engage with history and envisage themselves as active citizens in tomorrow’s society.
In a region characterised by its cultural diversity and dynamism, this project illustrates the desire to nurture the talents and curiosity of young people in Saint-Martin by offering them hands-on experiences with democratic institutions. SAFE thus aims to give these teenagers the tools to understand, debate and take action, whilst conveying a powerful message: citizenship is built from a very young age, through dialogue, discovery and inclusion.
