Successful Departure: the best way to prepare for the new school year

The Collectivité and the Maison de Saint-Martin in Paris are once again organising the “Successful Departure” event on 28 March at the CCISM. This annual event enables final-year secondary school students who are about to leave to study or undertake training to prepare for their move and receive advice on how to settle into their course more effectively.

Successful Departure aims to support new students from Saint Martin, providing them with all the information they need to understand the potential challenges of settling in far from Saint Martin and their family circle. Parents are also welcome to attend to gather information, particularly regarding available financial aid and tax benefits.
Meetings with institutional partners and associations will be available at various stands (Crous, Action Logement, Parcoursup, LADOM, the Mission Locale, the Public Finance Centre, France Travail, the Pélicarus association, local banks, etc.), and themed workshops will be organised (budgeting, housing, administrative matters, managing emotions). A testimonial stand will also be run by former students and people who have returned to the area after completing vocational training. To answer participants’ questions, the Local Authority will be present through its departments for education, youth and vocational training.
For this 13th edition, the event is opening up to other groups such as jobseekers or those wishing to undertake training or a career change. This expansion reflects the inclusive nature of the Student Guidance and Mobility Programme (POME), which recognises that the issue of educational mobility extends beyond the school setting and concerns the entire region.
Successful Departure 2026 will take place on Saturday 28 March from 8am to 2pm at the CCISM premises (rue Jean-Jacques Fayel, Concordia). Information: comparis@com-saint-martin.fr.
