Study Mobility Passport: campaign launch
With the baccalaureate results and the first university placements just around the corner, thousands of young people from the overseas territories are preparing to take a decisive step in their educational journey. As it does every year, LADOM is launching the ‘Passeport mobilité études’, a scheme designed to facilitate access to higher education courses when these are not available locally.
In 2025, 10,546 students benefited from the Student Mobility Passport (PME), which covered the cost of their return flight. Among them, 1,068 recent A-level graduates were also able to benefit from the PME+ scheme, which enables them to return home to see their loved ones and recharge their batteries during their first year of study, thanks to funding for a second return flight. “No young person from the overseas territories should have to give up their studies because of the distance involved.
The Study Mobility Passport is a practical tool designed to promote equal opportunities and the empowerment of our young people. By facilitating access to higher education, we are giving every student the means to build their future and contribute to the development of their region tomorrow,” says Saïd Ahamada, Director-General of LADOM. Applications must be submitted as soon as possible via the LADOM website (https://ladom.fr/), accompanied by a certificate of enrolment or pre-enrolment issued by the higher education institution. LADOM covers the cost of travel between the student’s usual place of residence and their place of study, based on the cheapest route available at the time of booking, and flight tickets are issued on a non-changeable and non-refundable basis. Students and their families are advised to plan ahead so that they can prepare for the start of the academic year with peace of mind.
