A hiccup over A-level qualifications

Some students in this year’s graduating class have noticed a printing error on their diplomas. The words ‘République française’ appear upside down. This error affects only some of the diplomas, and they will be reprinted. Affected students (or, if they are unable to do so, a parent) may visit the Vice-Rector’s Office with their diploma and proof of identity by this Friday, 17 July, and the office will take the necessary steps, or they may send their request by email (ce.9711281r@ac-guadeloupe.fr) before 28 July. Please note that the QR code works and that there are no issues with enrolment at higher education institutions.

361 new A-level graduates across all streams

Following the resit examinations, the pass rate across all streams in Saint Martin stands at 86.4 per cent, which is 2.6 percentage points higher than the pass rate for the 2025 session (83.8 per cent). 361 pupils obtained their baccalaureate this year, including 136 with the general baccalaureate, 91 with the technological baccalaureate and 121 with the vocational baccalaureate. 46.3 per cent of those who passed received a distinction: 5 per cent were awarded ‘Very Good’, 15 per cent ‘Good’, 26.3 per cent ‘Fairly Good’ and 53.7 per cent received no distinction.

National Lower Secondary Certificate: 51.4 per cent pass rate

The overall results for the National Brevet Diploma (DNB) are, as announced, down sharply. Following the examinations, the pass rate for this session stands at 51.4 per cent (compared with 61.9 per cent in 2025). The ‘vocational’ stream recorded the sharpest decline, with a pass rate of just 18.8 per cent, representing 21 successful candidates. In the general stream, 242 pupils passed their exams, representing a pass rate of 60.5 per cent – an increase of 8.7 percentage points – but still below the pass rate for the 2025 session.
