Karen Virapin‭, ‬Chief Executive of Air Caraïbes‭, ‬and Noëlla Abitol‭, ‬the airline’s Commercial Director for the Antilles and French Guiana‭, ‬announced‭, ‬at a press conference‭, ‬the launch of a new route between Sint Maarten and Pointe-à-Pitre, as well as the resumption of direct flights to Orly‭.‬

Air Caraïbes intends to strengthen inter-island connections, offer its passengers more travel options and meet a wide range of needs. The aim is also to facilitate connections to other destinations, whether to Paris, the United States or the Caribbean islands. This development strategy is based on this year’s figures, which include a 45 per cent increase in passenger numbers on the Grand Case–Pointe-à-Pitre route in July and August.
The flight between Princess Juliana Airport and Pointe-à-Pitre will operate daily from 8 January 2027 using an ATR 72-600. Tickets are already on sale on the airline’s website, with reasonable fares starting from €199 for a return journey (without luggage) and €249 to Fort-de-France. The managing director has confirmed that these fares will be permanent and has clarified that the fuel surcharge, which has been applied to long-haul flights since last year, does not apply to regional routes.
This new service will add 54,000 extra seats between Guadeloupe and Saint Martin in 2027. The aim is to ensure a sustainable service. The timetables have been drawn up in consultation with partner airlines, notably Winair and St Barth Commuter, to facilitate connections.
This new route will in no way affect flights departing from Grand Case, which will continue to operate under the same fare policy.  It is worth noting that, since last June, the airline has been offering an in-flight entertainment platform on all its flights between Guadeloupe, Martinique and Saint Martin. Newspapers, TV series, music, podcasts, music videos, games and cartoons are available free of charge on IZivision, by connecting in flight mode. Headphones are not provided, however… so don’t forget to bring your own!
This new route complements Air Caraïbes’ transatlantic network. Since 15 October, two direct flights have once again been operating each week, on Mondays and Thursdays, between Orly and Juliana, aboard the very latest Airbus A350. The choice of these two days also meets freight transport requirements. It is worth noting that Air Caraïbes is now the only airline to offer direct flights between Juliana and Orly Airport.
In 2025, the airline carried 18,000 passengers on this route. As the trend for this new season looks rather encouraging, the service is expected to be profitable. Tickets are available from €753 for a return journey from Juliana, in economy class and without luggage.
