According to the latest data from the Territorial Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies of Saint Martin (ITSEE), 1,361 businesses were created in the territory in 2025, 52% of which were sole proprietorships (micro-entrepreneurs, EURLs, SASUs). This represents a significant increase of 6% compared to the previous year and the highest number of business start-ups recorded since 2016.
However, according to socio-professional institutions, this figure should be viewed with caution, because while sole proprietorships are flourishing, the majority of SMEs and SMIs are struggling.
