Spotlight 2026: Marigot puts its key players in the spotlight
For its 6th edition, the Spotlight event organised by the Saint-Martin Inter-Professional Consular Chamber (CCISM) took over Rue de la République on Saturday 13 June, to showcase Saint-Martin’s artisans, shopkeepers and designers.
With over thirty participants, stalls selling food, handmade crafts and beauty products, professional workshops, and music continuing into the evening, Spotlight has once again lived up to expectations. This annual event, organised by the CCISM, brings together local artisans, traders, producers and creators for a day, and enthusiasm remains as strong as ever. Angèle Dormoy, its president, presented Spotlight with enthusiasm, recalling the event’s primary purpose: to give visibility to those who drive Saint-Martin’s economy on a daily basis.
An impressed audience and participants
From one stand to the next, the day revealed many facets of Saint Martin’s economy. In the morning, pupils from Mont des Accords secondary school took part in a pitch competition, reminding us that Spotlight also prepares the entrepreneurs of tomorrow, whilst professionals discussed insurance issues. Among the exhibitors we met, Emmanuel Gimenez from Golden Grove Farm offered tastings of his fresh produce from Colombier at his stand, before the fashion show took over the street. Joy Carty and Guillaume Gumbs, founders of Soualigan Slangs, were making their sixth consecutive appearance. “For us, it’s become a must-attend event of the year,” says the designer. “It allows us, for a day, to have a physical shop that we don’t usually have — like many other participants. It allows us to meet our customers face to face, and it’s nothing but joy. ” Kelly, jewellery designer and founder of the Kellzmerch brand, was exhibiting for the second time. Working from home, she was struck by the diversity of her clientele. “It was a fantastic event, and the results are tangible. For me, as a mum, it’s also an opportunity to show my son the value of hard work and entrepreneurship. ” In the evening, entrepreneurs and designers took to the stage for the showcase, and the band Grain d’Or brought the event to a close. An edition that once again confirms that Saint Martin has talent to spare and ambitions to match.
