Adie supports women entrepreneurs
From 1 to 5 June, Adie Saint-Martin and its partners are organising a week of events to support women’s entrepreneurship in the region. The programme includes free workshops and webinars designed to raise the profile of female entrepreneurs and project leaders.
In 2025, of the 237 people supported by Adie in Saint Martin, over 61% were women. This high level of reliance on the organisation highlights the persistent difficulty women in Saint Martin face in securing financial support from traditional banking channels. For many women, starting a business is not just a career choice; it is also a practical response to financial insecurity and a path towards greater independence. According to Adie, 30% of the women supported were receiving social security benefits when they started their businesses. Setting up a business thus becomes a means of economic and personal empowerment.
Beyond microcredit, the association offers comprehensive support, particularly in business strategy, financial management and business development. Over five days, the organisation aims to meet with women with business ideas and encourage all those who wish to do so to take the plunge.

The workshops are taking place at the Adie office in Marigot in partnership with the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs. These are free events open to all.
