Exhibitions
One ends his career as a painter in Saint-Martin on a high note, ready to fly off to other lands, while the other, very promising, is just beginning hers. Francis Eck and Lucie Pillant reveal their talents, each in their own way, at home or in a public place, with lightness or with force.
A final spotlight before departure
Francis Eck brings three decades of life and creativity on the island to a majestic and colourful close (see our 19 February edition). Don't miss this exhibition, where the painter's canvases will be on display for the last time in his studio in Orient Bay. The opening will take place on 6 March from 6.30 pm and the exhibition will be open on 7 and 8 March from 10 am to 5.30 pm... your last chance to treat yourself to a painting!
Dissension
After a first exhibition on the walls of the Mets Tissés restaurant last year, "Dissension" is now moving into the world of the One Love concept store. Lucie Pillant has a knack for taking over places where you wouldn't necessarily expect to find thought-provoking works of art. The young athlete (whose achievements on the tatami are too numerous to count) juggles explosiveness and poetry, intensity and freedom. We loved the combative "boxer", an acrylic oil painting, and "Inuit Spirit", a painting on paper, and we can't wait to discover the new creations of this prolific young artist (only 18 years old). On display from 28 February to 22 March at One by K, Millenia Gallery in Hope Estate.
