SXM Esport Festival: gaming, sport and health
Don’t miss the second edition of the SXM Esport Festival this Saturday, 25 July, which will see more than 70 players compete in the hottest video games: FC 26, Smash Bros Ultimate, Tekken 8 and Just Dance. Up for grabs: the title of Saint Martin champion and €1,500 in prize money.
For the public, in addition to the competition, a wide range of activities are planned at the Marigot Sports Hall, from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm: DJ sets, dance battles, capoeira demonstrations, sports activities, and more. Organised by the ANIS Saint-Martin association, with the support of Orange, the Collectivité, the State as part of the ‘Engagement 2030’ initiative, and the Territorial Olympic and Sports Committee, the event will also feature a Sport and Health Village (open from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm) where visitors can watch boxing demonstrations by the Sandy Ground Superstar Boxing Club, take part in mini 3x3 basketball tournaments with the Phoenicks club, and a ‘cycle-to-work’ workshop with Saint-Martin Santé (10.00–13.00)… from virtual sport to real-life exercise, the idea is to cycle for 2 minutes whilst answering a quiz on sport and health. Entry is free to the public throughout the day.
