Pink October: this weekend’s events

Let’s Go Girls: Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October

This women’s cycling competition, organised by Team JCO in partnership with the Centre for Excellence and Education through Sport, is open to all, and several Caribbean islands will be taking part. Enquiries: 06 91 28 68 84.

Pink October on the Move: Saturday 24 October 

The initiative combines health – with two midwives on hand to teach self-examination techniques or offer screening (from 8.30 am to 12 noon) and physical activity, with aquagym sessions led by Aquaterr’Happy (at 9.15 am and 10.30 am) and introductory sessions to aqua walking with Friendly Longe-Côte (at 8.30 am, 9.45 am and 11 am). The morning event, organised in partnership with the Regional Olympic Committee (CTOS), will take place right next to the Friar’s Bay Beach Café and will also provide an opportunity for participants to chat amongst themselves over a light snack. Freediving Challenge: Sunday 25 October

Freediving Challenge at the Hommage Hotel, from 8.30 am to 12 noon: the programme includes a welcome drink, relaxation, breathing exercises and a static freediving challenge. This event is open to everyone, whatever their level, thanks to guidance from Florian Mioni, a certified instructor. Information and bookings (€20 per person): 06 91 26 50 10.
