‘August at the Cinema’ returns to local neighbourhoods every Saturday from 1 August.
This year’s programme features four animated films in English with French subtitles. To make up for the lack of a cinema, this fun and entertaining event for young people in the neighbourhoods – and why not for the not-so-young too – is organised by the Collectivité, in collaboration with the State and the National Centre for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC). Mark your calendars now for Saturday 1 August for ‘Minecraft’, screened in the car park of Thelbert Carty Stadium; 8 August for ‘Wicked’ at the Saint-Louis sports ground; 22 August for ‘Joker: Folie à deux’ at the Les Sucreries housing estate in Concordia, and 29 August for ‘Snow White’ in the Galisbay car park (drive-in). The screenings are free and will start at 7.30 pm. There will be no screening on 15 August due to the traditional Sandy Ground festival.
