Summer Neighbourhoods in Sandy Ground

From 6 July to 28 August 2026, SOS Enfants des Îles du Nord and Friendly Upcycling are running a fun, community-focused and creative summer programme in Sandy Ground. Activities take place from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, as well as on Saturdays for a reading workshop. Aimed at young people aged 6 to 15, these activities will enable children to explore a range of areas: culture, with a mini-show planned for 14 July, featuring songs, costumes and puppets; sport and road safety, through learning to ride a bike, recognising road signs and developing good habits on the road; and creativity and recycling, with the creation of a totem pole from recycled wood. Parent-child sessions are also on offer, featuring games, cookery workshops and outings to explore the island. Film screenings take place on Tuesdays and Fridays at 6 pm.
