At the third Caribbean Baking Awards, held last weekend, 64 entrants were nominated across around 20 categories. Sébastien Quillère won the awards for Best Café and Best Pastry Spot of the Year.

The Caribbean Baking Awards showcase Caribbean talent in baking and pastry-making. Under the theme ‘One Caribbean – One Stage – One Culinary Celebration’, the third edition took place on 25 and 26 July at the Aleeze Convention Centre in Sint Maarten.
This year, 64 nominees from across the Caribbean (Anguilla, Curaçao, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Sint Maarten…), were in the running to win a trophy in one of the competition’s twenty categories. As the sole representative from the French side, Sébastien Quillère was nominated in four categories: best pastry chef, best chocolatier, most innovative pastry chef and best baker.
At the gala evening, he received the awards for best coffee and best pastry of the year. This marks yet another accolade for the master pastry chef and chocolatier based in Mont Vernon.
