Don’t forget: Mother’s Day!

Par Ann Bouard
28 May 2026

Whilst children should be making their mums happy all year round, but sometimes forget, the fact remains that there is one day when they simply cannot escape the rule: the last Sunday in May, traditionally set aside for Mother’s Day. ‬Three last-minute gift ideas for anyone lacking inspiration‮…‬

A wellness workshop on Friday

To make this Sunday perfect, the Sandy Ground on the Move association invites children (aged 6 and over) to take part in a wellness workshop with their mums this Friday 29 May from 2pm to 5pm at the Sandy Ground community centre (in the primary school car park). On the programme: pure bliss for mums – make-up, beauty tips, simple braids and facials. The session will end with a souvenir photo and a light snack. As places are limited, booking is essential (€10 for a mum on her own, €15 for a mum and child, or €20 for a mum and two children): 06 90 62 82 94.

A dance performance on Saturday

The dancers from the “Exotique Vortex” troupe will be performing this Saturday, 30 May, at the Axum Art Café at 6pm. “The Gathering” is a powerful show where the language, far beyond words, is that of the body, fusion and movement. A lovely gift for Mother’s Day. Tickets are on sale (€30) at SOS Radio or Radio Saint-Martin. Information: 06 90 08 95 69

A creative workshop for children on Sunday

Little scatterbrains who may have forgotten their Mother’s Day gift will have a chance to make amends by taking part in the Tropixa workshop this Sunday, 31 May at 10am… just enough time to create a beautiful painting on a terracotta pot and present it, with lots of love, to their mum. The workshop is free and all materials are provided on site. As places are limited to 15, you’ll need to hurry and sign up directly at the shop before tonight (Route de l’Espérance)
