Angels have smiles
She already had her head in the clouds here on earth, and now she has it up there, but a small part of her soul will forever remain rooted at the foot of the La Chapelle theatre, where she enjoyed such success. Cathy Carasso has passed away, and a tribute was paid to her last Saturday. A quince tree, one of her own, was replanted in front of the theatre with numerous little messages from those present.
Those who knew her, whether closely or from afar, and her friends from the theatre, were able to relive Cathy's finest moments on stage for a brief moment. There were laughs – provoked by Erwan as he recalled some juicy anecdotes – and tears – those of Audrey, who moved the entire audience. Cathy was the president of the association that runs the theatre, but above all she was the one who believed in this slightly crazy project from the very beginning... That was 22 years ago, and throughout all those years she retained the same enthusiasm and vision of life, through theatre, as a slightly dreamy child. It was not for nothing that the troupe nicknamed her the Little Prince. Always elsewhere, a little whimsical, with a touch of madness that was unique to her, that's how we knew her, and that's how she will be remembered, with that little smile on her lips... which we will never forget. And as Audrey so beautifully put it, the greatest gift we can give her is to raise the curtain once again so that the show can go on.
