A tribute to the residents and organisations of Grand Case

The first to be honoured was Louisa Francine Carti. A native of Grand Case, she has been working as a hairdresser there since 1994 and is one of those familiar faces who have been part of the lives of several generations of residents. Another Grand Case native to be honoured is Paul Emmanuel, the iconic music teacher and, above all, talented musician, who founded the music school bearing his name in 2001 and created the Saint-Martin Jazz Festival. The Collectivité also praised the commitment of the fledgling ‘Sonic Drum Band’ association, established in April 2025 in Grand Case. For the past year, its members have been an integral part of the parades, setting the rhythm with the sounds of their drums. As well as bringing the events to life, the association works to pass on cultural heritage by offering workshops, introductory music sessions and activities aimed at young people. Finally, the associations “The Grand-Case Lighting Parade” and “The Circle of Kings and Queens of Saint-Martin”, which help to keep the traditions and identity of Grand Case alive, also received the Collectivité’s certificate of recognition and applause from the audience.
