The 46th Heineken Regatta crowns its champions
Despite a few capsizes, the 46th edition of the Heineken Regatta could not have had a better ending. Winds of 35 knots, big waves and a breathtaking race off Mullet Bay provided 111 crews and an enthusiastic crowd with a spectacular finale. A week of intense racing and fifteen classes with close results: the Caribbean's biggest regatta once again lived up to all its promises.
On the water, the Cookson 50 Privateer dominated CSA 1 from start to finish, while CSA 2 offered the ultimate suspense with Team 42 and Re/Max One separated by a single differential quotient. In multihulls, Sophia and La Novia dominated their respective classes, confirming the rise of double hulls. Pyratz Gourmet Sailing won the Diam 24 after ten races of rare intensity, while Team Island Water World took the title in the Melges 24. A nod to the Next Generation programme, won by Treadwell and Joseph, as well as the Sailability Speed Race, reminded us that sailing in Saint Martin is also built on transmission and inclusion.
On the entertainment side, Jeon, Sugar Apple and BRG Hollywood set the various evenings alight, while the legendary Inner Circle held the stage despite the downpours, galvanising an audience that remained loyal until the end. Proof, if any were needed, that the Heineken Regatta is as much about what happens on land as it is on the water. See you on 4 March 2027 for the 47th edition.
