Sporty Challenge: A successful first edition
This first edition of the Sporty Challenge was a celebration of camaraderie and sportsmanship. 108 adults and children took part in the various events organised by the Centre d’Excellence et d’Éducation par le Sport de Saint-Martin (CEES), on Sunday 27 September at Galion Beach.
The aim of this new local event, organised as part of European Week of Sport, was to inspire people of all ages to get active, share experiences and enjoy sport together. The courses – Challenge, Excellence, Evolution and Spirit – had been designed so that everyone could take part in a physical activity suited to their abilities. Both children and adults took part with enthusiasm, good humour and a wonderful sporting spirit, especially as three of the four courses were not timed – the important thing was to take part!
On the ‘Challenge’ course – the only timed event reserved for adults and teenagers who exercise regularly – Sophie Berthelot, Cyrelle Chiffre and Marine Lindeperg finished first, second and third respectively. In the men’s category, the Challenge was won by Gauthier Mathieu de Fossey, ahead of Vincent Accatto and Hecham Belaidi.
