The Friendly Padel Club has taken a major step forward in the development of Caribbean padel by organising the very first P1000 tournament in Saint Martin. The ‘Java P1000 Tournament’ has been in full swing since Thursday and will conclude on Saturday 16 May.

Following the success of last year’s P500 tournament, the Friendly Padel Club is hosting its very first P1000 tournament on its courts in Grand Case, bringing together the sport’s elite with 48 teams from Martinique, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, mainland France and Saint Martin.
The three-day programme features around a hundred matches and the participation of 96 players, 64 of whom are from Saint Martin. “We’ve brought over six players from mainland France,” says Ozeree Elliot, co-manager and founder of the Friendly Padel Club. Among them are Maxime Moreau, currently ranked 15th in France and a former No. 2, as well as Pierre Perez Le Tiec, currently ranked 16th in France and a former top-9 player. Open to the public, the tournament promises a standard of play never before seen in Saint Martin.
The matches, which began on Thursday, continue this Friday 15 May from 2pm, and throughout the day on Saturday 16 May from 7am. The semi-finals and finals will take place between 5pm and 10pm. DJ Feder, an international artist also taking part in the tournament, will host the closing night on Saturday 16 May (€20 – bookings on 06 90 23 14 98). On site, food stalls, a wellness area and entertainment will be available.
With this P1000 event, the Friendly Padel Club hopes to attract up to 450 people… it is true that the sport is becoming increasingly popular, with already 400 registered players in Saint-Martin.
