Golf: the Tamarins join the Eastern Caribbean Golf Association
Saint Martin is taking another step forward this year by joining the Eastern Caribbean Golf Association (ECGA), which brings together golf federations and associations from the Eastern Caribbean. Twelve golfers will represent the Les Tamarins association for the first time at an ECGA tournament, from 9 to 11 October.
This first participation, which can be described as historic, marks an important milestone for local golf. It will enable players to compete against teams from across the region. The ECGA’s members include: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Montserrat, Saint Croix, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Maarten, Saint Martin and Saint Thomas.
Three women and nine men, selected following the annual Les Tamarins championship, will represent Saint Martin, with the aim of strengthening ties with other Caribbean territories through a shared passion.
For Les Tamarins, this admission to the ECGA represents recognition of the work accomplished and a real driving force to continue developing the sport and raising the profile of golf in Saint Martin. This venture was made possible thanks to the support of the Guadeloupe Golf League, the Saint-Martin Tourist Board and the association’s partners (FT Development Group, Cube Lift and Tackling Assurance).
