Celya Brige, from the Friendly Longe-Côte club, won the first medal for the West Indies. Of the six West Indian clubs taking part, three medals were won: two for Saint Martin, with a silver medal for Friendly Longe-Côte in the trail event and a bronze medal for the Je Longe la Côte aux Antilles club in the 50m paddle event, as well as a medal for Martinique, won by the Mi Lavi club. Due to difficult weather conditions, the organisers were forced to adjust the competition schedule. The Longe-Côte races scheduled for Saturday were cancelled because the sea was too rough. The Longe-Côte trail run, originally scheduled for Sunday, finally took place on Saturday afternoon, in particularly challenging conditions.
