The European Central Bank (ECB) is preparing a new series of banknotes to enhance their security, improve their accessibility and reduce their environmental impact. Everyone is invited to share their views.
There are three days left to view the shortlisted designs and give your opinion on the full range of new banknotes. Two themes have been featured on each banknote (from €5 to €200): European culture, and rivers and birds. The designs and the (anonymous) questionnaire are available online at: https://surveys.ecb.europa.eu/10b/neweuro/ until 21 September. The results will be taken into account by the ECB when selecting the new banknotes, the final designs for which are expected to be unveiled by the end of the year. The current banknotes will remain valid and continue to circulate, as the production of new banknotes takes several years.
