Fire in the centre of Marigot

On Wednesday 10 June, at around 5am, the Saint-Martin fire brigade was called out to a house fire on Rue de la Liberté in Marigot. On arrival, the fire was affecting a wellness shop of around 40 m², located in a single-storey timber-framed building with a total floor area of approximately 150 m². Despite difficulties in accessing the site, the fire was contained within the affected premises, causing only minor smoke damage to adjacent areas. No injuries or discomfort to anyone were reported. The operation required the use of two water hoses and involved nine firefighters, a team leader and three vehicles. The gendarmerie, the local police and EDF also attended the scene.
