Be careful on the roads: two more serious accidents
Two serious accidents occurred last Thursday and Friday on the roads in the French part… Caution is more important than ever.
The first accident occurred on Thursday on the Bellevue straight, just before the border, and involved two vehicles. When the emergency services arrived, they found that a head-on collision had claimed three lives; the first, a 76-year-old man in cardiac arrest, who, despite resuscitation attempts by the emergency services, died at the scene; and two young women, who were conscious but suffering from multiple injuries, who were treated at the scene and taken to hospital. On Friday, shortly after 4.00 pm on the N7, on the outskirts of Orléans heading towards the Dutch side, an unoccupied minibus, a car and a flatbed lorry collided. The drivers of the minibus and the lorry sustained minor injuries, as did one of the car’s passengers. The two front-seat passengers in the car, however, had to be treated at the scene and were taken to hospital in a serious condition. Later that evening, they were flown to Guadeloupe. The sixth victim signed a discharge form and did not require hospital treatment.
