We took you behind the scenes of the preparations, now it's time to step into the spotlight! On Sunday, 8 February, eleven school troupes took to the streets of Marigot for an enchanting parade that captivated the large crowd of spectators who braved the uncertain weather.
This parade lived up to all expectations. Neither the threatening clouds nor the unpredictable weather could dampen the spirits of the young carnival-goers, who were determined to make Marigot shine. From the moment the parade began, the tone was set. Each school had creatively designed its own theme: tropical birds of Brazil, flaming suns and multicoloured flowers. Dressed in costumes carefully crafted during workshops in the preceding weeks, the children took to the streets with pride and confidence. Pearls, sequins and confetti sparkled as the young artists performed their choreographed routines. Throughout the parade, spectators warmly cheered on each troupe. With knowing smiles and tender glances, the children's parade once again confirmed its status as an unmissable event in the carnival calendar.
