Final exhibition by painter Francis Eck before his permanent departure

19 February 2026

After 33 years living in Saint Martin, his decision is made: he is leaving without looking back, and once again offering us the opportunity to admire and purchase his magnificent paintings.

The least we can say is that we will miss this artist, as he is part of the Saint-Martin artistic landscape. Known and recognised beyond the island's borders, he made his big comeback last year with a unique exhibition presented to the public as his ultimate artistic shift. Francis Eck confessed to us that the blues that had made him so famous were now behind him, because after having an extrasensory experience, he had a revelation that changed his art forever, to such an extent that he decided to devote the rest of his life to it.
But you never know what life has in store for you. He who believed he would end his days in the very place where he has lived and painted for several decades is now opening a new chapter in his busy life: he is moving to Guadeloupe. This is an important turning point, both for him and for the collectors and people who have followed his work for years, not only here but far beyond our borders, and we can be proud to have had him among us all this time.

One last glimpse before he leaves

Let us remember that he arrived in the West Indies as a physical education teacher (yes, really!) in Saint Barthélemy, and that after a few years in Guadeloupe (already), he settled in Saint Martin in 1992, where his popularity as a painter continued to grow thanks to his inimitable talent for highlighting the light, contrasts and energy of the island.

His studio, located in the gardens of Orient Bay for 18 years, will once again welcome the public who have followed him for so many years before the curtain closes definitively on the master's numerous paintings. The opening will take place on 6 March, with the exhibition running on 7 and 8 March. This will be an opportunity to say goodbye to Francis Eck, wish him good luck for the future, and above all, thank him for all the emotions he has given us so far. Hats off to the artist!
