Shows, concerts, flea markets, festivals and social gatherings – here’s an overview of the events to add to your diaries.

Apéro Girls: an evening dedicated to women’s sexual health

As part of Sexual Health Month, the Safe Saint-Martin association is organising a discussion session on Friday 12 June, from 6pm to 9pm, at the Aides à Concordia premises. This free event, over drinks, invites women to talk about sexual health without taboos. There will also be prizes to be won. Register by email: dahlia@safe978.org or via WhatsApp: 06 90 11 28 41.

Fly Dance SXM presents its end-of-year show 

On Saturday 13 June, from 5pm to 7pm, the end-of-year show by the Fly Dance SXM aerial dance school will take place. Children, adults, regular students and competition-level students will showcase their work at the Anse Marcel Beach restaurant. The programme includes pole dancing, hammock, hoop and aerial silks. 

Pianissimo puts on a show

The Pianissimo music school invites the public to discover its pupils’ work through two musical events. The first will take place on Saturday 13 June at 3.30 pm at the school’s premises in Marigot. The programme features solo performances and small ensembles, prepared throughout the year. The second event will take place on Sunday 21 June at 5.00 pm at the Hôtel Hommage, in Baie Nettlé. This evening will feature performances by groups of students playing various instruments and at different levels. Accompanied by their teachers, the musicians will perform on a professional stage, in conditions similar to a live concert. Admission is free and open to all. 

The Zion Kids Olympics

On Sunday 14 June, the Zion Social Club invites children to take part in the Olympiads during the Reggae Sound Beach Party (from 12 noon to 9 pm). On the programme: sports and team games. The event will begin at 4.00 pm with a warm-up and will take place at the Elloz Volleyball Court, between Baie Orientale and Mont Vernon. Free entertainment and on-the-spot registration. Flea market party and brunch in Cul-de-Sac

On Sunday 14 June, from 8 am to 3 pm, a flea market party is being held in Cul-de-Sac, opposite the former Soualiga secondary school. The event will bring together numerous stallholders offering new and second-hand clothing, children’s items, books, crockery and decorative items. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a relaxed area with a barbecue, drinks, music and games. A few stalls are still available for exhibitors, with a fee of €15. “L’amour de la danse” by Rhythm & Groove

The Rhythm & Groove Dance Studio association presents its end-of-year show, entitled “L’amour de la danse”. From contemporary dance to urban choreography, this show will bring together dancers of all ages and styles. Two performances will take place at the Philipsburg Cultural Centre, on Friday 19 June at 6.30 pm and Saturday 20 June at 6 pm. Prices: €15 for children aged 3 to 11 and €25 for adults. 

Afro Karibe Festival: four days dedicated to Afro-Caribbean heritage

From 25 to 28 June in Philipsburg, the Afro Karibe Festival offers an immersion in Afro-Caribbean cultures through music, dance, art, fashion and gastronomy. Designed as a cultural and community event, it highlights the stories, struggles and heritage that have shaped the Caribbean, whilst promoting contemporary creativity. On the programme: artistic performances, exhibitions, workshops and meetings with artists from across the region.
