Charity concert

The Rotary Club of Saint-Martin Nord is organising a charity concert in aid of maternal and child health and girls’ education. ‘La Voix du Cœur’ will offer the audience an immersion into the world of opera, featuring the Saint-Martin debut of soprano Leïla Brédent, accompanied on the piano by Dominic Boulianne. In a candlelit atmosphere, the evening will feature, amongst other pieces, Bellini’s ‘Casta Diva’, excerpts from *Norma* and *Lakmé*, Léo Delibes’s ‘Air des clochettes’ and a work deeply rooted in Caribbean memory, ‘From Louis Delgrès to the Whole Universe’.
The funds raised will help to purchase maternity kits for mothers and their newborns, as well as educational books for young girls on topics such as puberty, self-confidence, personal development and the life stories of inspiring women. The Club also wishes to contribute to the purchase of materials for courses promoting the education and empowerment of women and girls on Île-à-Vache in Haiti.
