On Tuesday 9 June, La Poste officially launched its new stamp collection entitled ‘Destination Saint-Martin’. Produced in collaboration with the Tourist Office, this initiative aims to promote the territory. It’s a way of sharing Saint-Martin’s landscapes via the post and across the globe. With a print run of 10,000 copies, these booklets of eight “letter verte” stamps are available at post offices and online, priced at €15 per booklet. They showcase several of the island’s iconic sites, featuring a selection of photographs provided by the Tourist Office. From the Marigot market to the Grand-Case jetty and Anse Marcel, the landscapes of the Friendly Island will soon adorn letters and postcards. This series also highlights certain cultural features of the island, including steel pan, carnival and local cuisine. Through this collection, Saint Martin gains a new platform for visibility, encompassing postal, tourism and heritage aspects.
