Sailing : Captain Oliver’s Regatta

Next weekend, May 20 and 21, will be a weekend of racing. The Captain Oliver’s Regatta, always a fun weekend for sailors and spectators, presented by St. Maarten Yacht Club and Carib Beer St. Maarten, is a not to be missed event.

For all those who want to enter their boats in the regatta it is time to start considering and executing the following:

Eligibility and Entry
The regatta is open to all boats of the following classes:- CSA Monohull / CSA Multihull / Rum Class (un-rated vessels with the emphasis on participation)
Eligible boats may enter by completing and submitting the online form.  Fees must be paid at registration.
Late entries will be accepted at registration
Fees
An entry fee of USD 2.00 per foot of length overall for each vessel
Registration
Registration is mandatory for all entrants and will take place at the Committee Desk at the
Iguana Bar, Oyster Pond on Friday May19, from 16.00 to 19.00
Online entry is encouraged
Identification
All boats are required to register their sail numbers for identification purposes.
All boats without sail numbers will be required to carry bow numbers for the purpose of identification. These will be supplied at Registration and a refundable cash deposit of US $50 will be charged to all boats requiring bow numbers
Schedule
The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race on May 20 - is 10.00
The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race on May 21- is 09.00
Measurements
Rating systems will be as follows: - CSA monohulls and multihulls – 2017 CSA certificate required, appropriate TCF will apply. - Rum Class – Non rated
Sailing Instructions
The sailing instructions will be available online and at registration
Venue
Races shall be the coastal and surrounding waters off St. Maarten
The Courses
Courses will be described in the sailing instructions
